The Mission

U8 to U13 Player Training Model.
The mission of PSPL Surf Juniors is to provide high-level training that is fun, age appropriate and developmental. This is a pure player-development program.   We encourage all players between 8 to 13 to join Surf Juniors YDP training programs that kick off in mid-May and run through September. Click logos above for time and place for the YPD technical training dates. Our sole focus: training young players to be technically superb, tactically aware and passionately engaged in the game! Such small-group sessions combined with demanding but inclusive training creates the maximum opportunity for individual growth.

About the Surf Juniors: Our main goal for the Surf Juniors:  technical development and player identification. The Development of each player will occur through the training. The bulk of it will consist of technical foot-work to improve players in three areas:
  1. Developing a good first touch under pressure and in tight spaces.
  2. Comfort level on the ball under pressure and in tight spaces.
  3. 1v1 Dribbling ability under pressure and in open spaces.
The academy coaches also will be identifying and evaluating players who may want to move to the next level of club-based premier soccer, or who aspire to play for the Surf Academy or ODP, id2, or ultimately the USSF development academies. We will be able to evaluate the player -- regardless of playing ability or technical mastery - and draw up personal training plans to simply get better.  We also identify and recommend players to US Club Soccer's id2 regional and national player identification program.
