ACADEMY STAFF COACH, PUGET SOUND PREMIER LEAGUE - 2014 - 2016
Goalkeeping Director
DIRECTOR OF COACHING, EMERALD CITY FOOTBALL CLUB — 2010 - 2014
In this role, I served essentially as the CEO of the organization, providing the vision, goals and strategic planning to help rebuild what had been a failing organization. During my tenure, the club more than doubled in size and we established a solid Development Program to feed the future needs of the organization
SEATTLE SOUNDERS / WASHINGTON YOUTH SOCCER – RTC STAFF COACH – 2008 – 2010
Working both as a coach in the Regional Training Centers and as an ODP age group coach for Washington Youth Soccer, I also taught coaching education courses for WYS in this capacity.
FOUNDER, LEAD CONSULTANT, CODE COACHING - 2008 - 2010
This organization was established to serve the needs of a large business organization that approached me to present team building and leadership workshops. After numerous successful engagements, I elected to put this business on hold while I pursued an opportunity to rebuild Emerald City Football Club in Seattle. I have since resumed my business consulting under the umbrella of Erik Oman Coaching.
GENERAL MANAGER, HEAD COACH, COLORADO SPRINGS SABERS – WPSL – 2005 – 2007
US OLYMPIC DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM REGION IV STAFF COACH — 1990 - 2010
This experience was extremely valuable in providing the opportunity to work with diverse groups of players and coaches from across the country. In this capacity, we worked to identify top talent from multiple states and bring them together to form cohesive, successful teams at both Regional and National levels, while developing players for promotion to youth national teams.
DIVISION I COLLEGE COACH — 1990 - 2007
Starting my career at the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, CO (1990 - 1994), I continued on to coach at the University of Washington (1994 - 1996), the University of Montana (1996 - 2001), Colorado College (2001 - 2004) and the United States Air Force Academy (2006 - 2007), serving in both head coaching and assistant coaching roles. Recruiting student-athletes to college campuses and building teams to compete each season provided an exceptional opportunity to hone strong leadership skills. While I was fortunate to be a part of several very successful teams, my greatest accomplishment in this capacity lies in the number of my players who have continued on to successful coaching careers of their own.
